Elaine O’Hara is an accomplished commercial development and operations officer with an impressive track record of building and leading the teams charged with introducing new products, acquiring intellectual property and expanding into new disease areas and geographies. Working closely with other C-suite and BU leaders, she has been a primary driver of revenues, margins and profits.

Over her career Elaine has delivered robust P&Ls, led large commercial organizations and has been an organizational change agent, building structure and capability and increasing efficiency to drive business success. She has extensive biologics and launch experience and has worked across multiple therapeutic areas including vaccines, neuroscience, infectious diseases, transplant, virology and oncology.   As Chief Commercial Officer, North America for Sanofi Pasteur, she is responsible for a $3.8 billion portfolio of 16 products delivering $2.5 billion in operating income. She leads an organization of 750 people in the U.S. and Canada. She also works with government agencies and advocacy organizations, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), Operation Warp Speed, (OWS), AARP, the American Lung Association and Families Against Flu.

Prior to joining Sanofi, Elaine was Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations with Otsuka, where she led a U.S. P&L of $2 billion, supported by a 660-person commercial team across multiple disease areas including neuroscience/psychiatry, nephrology, and oncology   Previously, Elaine was with Pfizer/Wyeth for 14 years in various leadership roles across vaccines and anti-infectives, including Portfolio Commercial Lead for Pfizer North America and Global Commercial Lead, Vaccines at Wyeth,

Elaine earned her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from the HAUB School of Business, Saint Joseph’s University, Philadelphia, and a Bachelor of Arts from National University of Ireland.
