The Power of Disruptive Innovation
You may have heard the term “blockchain” in reference to Bitcoin or at a fin-tech conference, but this technology is far broader than just crypto-currencies. For example, Nasdaq is using blockchain to allow private companies to issue stock and stockholders of public companies to vote their shares. Blockchain, a type of distributed ledger database that maintains a continuously growing list of transaction records ordered into blocks with various protections against tampering and revision, is creating significant waves of disruption in industries, processes, and business models revolving around the centralization of trust.
It is imperative that board members educate themselves on the technology to be able to ask the right questions, such as “Can blockchain bring new services to market or enhance operational capabilities?” During this 45 minute webinar, participants will learn about the blockchain basics and application of the technology, as well as key questions directors should be asking in the boardroom
Discussion Leader: Susan Ramonat, Blockchain Progam Lead, SEI
