For organizations aiming to leverage data for decision making, analytical tools are the method of choice. Visualization software provides opportunities to observe patterns in data and to generate business insight.
With software such as Tableau, users can create and use visualizations varying in complexity to better understand important relationships and themes within their data - prompting insights into business processes and improvements in the quality of decisions.
This workshop suits those who are new to data visualization tools and want to understand the potential of data visualization, regardless of their previous technical or analytical backgrounds. Participants will learn how tools like Tableau can be used to conduct basic data analysis to support decision making, strategy formulation and operational improvements.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Match data visualizations to different business needs
- Format data using various tools to fine-tune visualizations
- Blend data from different databases
- Create a variety of visualizations from data such as:
- Pie Charts, Line Charts and Bar Charts
- Bubble Charts
- Geographic Maps
- Page Trails
- Heat Maps
- Density Charts
- Box and Whisker Plots
- Scatter Plots
- Small Multiples
- Dual Axis and Combo Charts with different mark types
