LeBow College of Business seeks applicants with exceptional ability and the motivation to succeed in a research-oriented program.

Admission to this full-time program is competitive and highly selective. Ph.D. candidates must specify their proposed area of specialization, as their credentials will be compared to the credentials of other applicants to the same specialization area. There may be relatively few openings in a given area. All admitted Ph.D. students have full-time status.

The deadline for applying to the Fall 2015 enrollment is January 15, 2015.

September 30, 2014 Considering the many different career paths someone with a degree in economics can pursue, it is always helpful to hear from people that have gone the route before to see what they did with their education. Bringing in people from industry, recent graduates, researchers, among others, the Drexel Economics Society along with the School of Economics’ M.S. in Economics program hopes to enlighten undergraduate and graduate students in some of the professional possibilities they can expect.

August 14, 2014 This is a requirement for all incoming Finance Ph.D. students and is recommended for several of our other programs as well. If in doubt as to whether or not you should be joining this course, please contact your Program Coordinator.
July 28, 2014 Associate Professor Of Economics and Director of the PhD Program in LeBow College of Business, Dr. Christopher Laincz, is holding a 2-day Math Camp for incoming Masters level students. Although principally designed for incoming for MS Economics students - any incoming MS student looking to brush up on their math skills are invited to join. The format for the camp will be over two days (Monday and Tuesday September 15 and 16) with lectures from 9-12 in the morning and then reconvening for 1-2 hours in the afternoon to work on problems assigned. Topics will include: 1. Proof Methodology 2. Sets, Numbers, and Functions 3. Sequence, Series, and Limits 4. Continuity 5. Basic Calculus - Rules of Differentiation 6. Basic Linear algebra Please register if you plan on attending.
