PhD program alumna Virginia Miori promoted at St. Joseph's University.

PhD candidate Tom Zylkin recently accepted a visiting assistant researcher position in the fall at Yale University. Zylkin will conduct research under the supervision of Professor Costas Arkolakis.

Scott Dust, who is graduating with a doctorate in management, was recognized with the Outstanding Promise Doctoral Award by the University.

Two Ph.D. students have recently been honored for their exceptional work at Drexel LeBow. Fifth-year Ph.D. candidate, Monique Bell, has won Drexel University’s 2013 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation award, and Thomas Zylkin, an Economics Ph.D. student, has been recognized with Drexel's 2013 Graduate Teaching Excellence Award.

On June 15 at 9 a.m., Drexel University will celebrate its 126th Commencement at the Daskalakis Athletic Center. Receiving this year’s honorary degrees from LeBow College of Business are Charles E. Haldeman Jr., noted financier; Buzz Bissinger, a prolific Pulitzer prize-winning author and Robert and Esther “Penny” Fox, chairman and CEO of his investment firm and noted philanthropist, respectively.   

Jianhong Chen has been elected to serve as the chair of the New Doctoral Student Consortium (NDSC) at the 2013 Academy of Management Meeting. NDSC is the largest and one of the most prestigious professional development workshops at the Academy meeting.

As a group, accountants aren’t usually known for being ‘artsy,’ but that doesn’t mean they don’t have artistic hobbies, says Drexel LeBow Ph.D. student Michael Paz, noting that several faculty members in LeBow’s accounting department play musical instruments.
