Edgardo Demaestri

Edgardo Demaestri is a Senior consultant in Financial Markets and Public Debt Management. Currently, he is chief editor of Argentina’s well-regarded economic journal: Proyeccion Economica. Previously, he acted as Executive Secretary of the IDB sponsored Latin American and the Caribbean Debt Management Group for more than ten years, and Co-Executive Secretary of the Latin American PPP Risk Management Group from its inception until May 2019. He held senior positions at the Inter-American Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Central Bank of Argentina. He graduated in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires and finished his graduate studies in Monetary Economics at the Catholic University of Argentina. He has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses on Monetary Economics and Quantitative Methods. He has edited and written books and articles on monetary economics, financial supervision, housing finance, and public debt. His current areas of interest are: Sovereign Contingent Liabilities, PPP Fiscal and Financial Risks, and Sovereign Asset and Liability Management, publishing and presenting on these matters at international forums.
