Thomas J. Pizzuto

Thomas has 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As Global Director, Emerging Technology at Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC), he is teaming with colleagues and customers to explore business challenges and opportunities using new technology such as blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT). His work includes ideation and experimentation, collaboration and governance, solution strategy and development.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Thomas was vice president for a leading electronic pedigree provider and was director of RFID Technology and Strategies at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. Thomas currently represents Johnson & Johnson as a member of the Innovative Medicines Initiative – Blockchain Enabled Healthcare- that will bring healthcare industry leaders together with public & private partners to explore ways to improve European Union healthcare systems, processes and outcomes using blockchain technology.

He previously represented Johnson & Johnson as a member of the Pharmaceutical Distribution Security Alliance, a multi-stakeholder and interdisciplinary industry initiative that helped to develop and enact federal legislation, the Drug Supply Chain Security Act, to improve patient safety and supply chain security. He was technology team lead for PhRMA’s Secure Supply Chain initiative and steering committee chairman of HDMA’s “RX Safe Track”. Thomas holds a BA from Williams College; MBA from Fordham University; and MS from Temple University, School of Pharmacy.
