In coordination with the University’s Department of Human Resources and Office for Equality and Diversity (OED), the Action Group’s Learning and Professional Development subcommittee has created a bundle of training modules on important topics relating to DEI. By completing the “Understanding Power and Privilege” bundle and attending this complementary seminar hosted by OED, you will earn a certificate certifying your completion.

Topics will include:

  • Microaggressions
  • Privilege Walk
  • Five Steps for Being an Ally for the Black Community

Attendees will develop an understanding of ways in which power and privilege show up in our working and learning spaces. Successful completion will be marked by an understanding of the link between these concepts and microaggressions, and how individuals can leverage that understanding as allies on behalf of students and colleagues from marginalized groups.

This session will be held in room 409 and via Zoom for remote participants. Please register for the Zoom link. Lunch will be served on the 3rd-floor in the undergraduate suite (370).
