How a Philadelphia antiviolence grant improperly funneled $76,000 to city police staffers

Teresa Harrison, PhD, professor of economics and director of the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute’s Center for Nonprofit Governance, shared insights on government and nonprofit audit practices in the Philadelphia Inquirer’s investigation into the Guns Down Gloves Up program. The program was improperly awarded a $392,000 antiviolence grant and is now under investigation by the Philadelphia Police Department and the Office of the Inspector General.
