Jim Balaschak

Mr. Balaschak retired in 2015 as a principal in Deloitte’s U.S. Energy & Resources practice where he led the Deloitte U.S. Oil & Gas global inbound investment initiative. In his role as a lead client service partner, he and his teams provided valuable advisory services to Deloitte’s leading clients in the energy sector including oil and gas, power and utilities, and alternative energy companies. With over three decades of US and international experience, Mr. Balaschak worked primarily with management teams and boards on strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), change management, and operational excellence.

Mr. Balaschak is a recognized thought leader in energy with over 200 public speaking engagements and publications. The majority of his work has been on an international scale in the key areas of strategy, and mergers and acquisitions across a wide range of organizations. At Deloitte, he led scores of strategy projects for Global Fortune 500 companies. Internationally, he worked in Russia, CIS, Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. For Teledyne, prior to Deloitte, he developed new market entry strategies for the corporation throughout the world using the two patented products he co-created. Since repatriating to the US in 2008, Mr. Balaschak has focused on assisting with merger, acquisitions and asset disposals in the oil and gas sector.

Mr. Balaschak holds a Master’s of Business Administration from Tulsa University and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He and his wife live in Scottsdale, Arizona, and have two sons and one granddaughter. Mr. Balaschak is a USGA certified rules expert and volunteers as a tournament rules official for the Arizona Golf Association, NCAA and USGA. He is also guitarist, and with his wife, Kim a pianist, plays in a musical trio “Gerry & the Schaks”.
