Choosing a computer to use while enrolled at LeBow College of Business is a very important decision that should be made with care. Below you will find recommendations for the minimum hardware specifications to look for when purchasing a new computer. These minimum specifications are intended as a guide to ensure the computer you choose will serve you well in your daily coursework. Any upgrades to these recommendations are at your discretion based on your personal preference.
While LeBow Tech does not endorse any particular brand or style of computer for personal use, we do recommend that you give serious thought to purchasing a Windows 10 based laptop. This will ensure you are able to use all software required for your coursework and offer you the portability to take your computer with you to class.
CAUTION: You may be required to use software for coursework where no macOS version is available. In these instances, you will need access to a Windows 10 PC. This can be done a number of ways:
- Using any LeBow College of Business computer lab
- Borrowing a laptop from LeBow Tech for the day
- Installing a Windows 10 virual machine (VM) on your Apple computer using an application such as VMWare, Parallels or BootCamp
NOTE: LeBow Tech does not provide support for student VMs.
