We offer a PhD in Business and a PhD in Economics

With the PhD in Business, students follow one of two research streams: the economics stream or the behavioral stream. Among those who follow the economics stream, many students take the first year core courses with the PhD in Economics students. In the second year, PhD in Business students typically take seminar courses offered by their respective departments. These seminar courses teach students the tools needed to pursue independent research in their field.

PhD in Economics students take core courses in the first year of their studies — including game theory, mathematical economics, microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics — and in the second year they specialize in two of the three field sequences offered by the economics department: industrial organization, international economics and open economy macroeconomics.
