William Montgomery is a Philadelphia native with 17 years of experience at PGW, beginning in customer assistance and transitioning to Supply Chain in 2017. He currently directs the Fleet and Materials Management departments, overseeing 100 employees, a fleet of nearly 900 vehicles and equipment, plus a $14 million inventory of 10,000 unique items. Before PGW, he worked in non-profit organizations focused on energy conservation, public health, housing counseling, and neighborhood development. His professional interests include data analysis, process improvement, project management, and problem-solving.
He is a part-time faculty member at Community College of Philadelphia, teaching courses in sociology, environmental conservation, and physical geography. His education includes an A.A.S. in Architecture from Community College of Philadelphia, a B.A. in Geography/Urban Studies from Temple University, and a Master of Planning from Indiana University.
He is married with three daughters and is a fan of NASCAR, Philadelphia sports, and astronomy.
