Inside the Master of Health Administration Curriculum
The Master of Health Administration prepares students to lead in a healthcare system shaped by rapid change, increasing complexity and growing expectations for quality, value and equity. Through an interdisciplinary curriculum that combines healthcare policy, analytics, strategy and organizational leadership, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions across a variety of healthcare settings.
You’ll examine the social, political, economic and organizational factors that influence healthcare delivery while learning to evaluate policy, navigate regulatory requirements and apply legal and ethical frameworks to management decisions. Throughout the program, experiential learning, workshops and a guided consultancy project provide opportunities to apply classroom learning to real healthcare challenges.
You’ll graduate with skills in:
- Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills based on a solid foundation in the social, political, regulatory, financial context of US Health Care.
- Ethical Decision Making: Apply ethical reasoning in management decisions within the context of healthcare.
- Healthcare Systems Analysis: Analyze contextual factors such as social determinants, political dynamics, economic pressures, and organizational structures to influence administrative decisions in healthcare organizations.
- Strategic Management and Leadership: Demonstrate organizational leadership through the application strategic management, health care financial management, and epidemiologic tools to serve their communities.
Note: In Fall 2027, Drexel University will transition from a quarter-based academic calendar to semesters as part of its broader Academic Transformation.
- Spring 2027: Students will begin under the quarter-based calendar and 2026-27 academic requirements before moving to semesters. Students will receive program-specific guidance and support throughout the transition.
