Biography
Steve serves as Assistant Director in the Center for Career Readiness at Drexel University in the LeBow College of Business where he works as career advisor to both graduate and undergraduate students in the areas of Economics, Business Law, Sport Business and Real Estate Management. He also works with employers to connect them to students for full-time and internship opportunities, and also provide a connection to other areas of LeBow. Steve develops events and programming to provide networking opportunities, skills development, and other services. He advises students as they discern their career paths and potential opportunities. Steve serves as instructor for several graduate student career and professional development courses in LeBow.
He joined Drexel University in 2006 following 25 years with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. During his career with the NJEDA, Steve specialized in high-risk commercial lending, and economic and community development. He was responsible for project development, underwriting, and portfolio management at the Authority with experience in the funding and administration of not-for-profit, educational and religious organizations as well as large-scale corporate projects and emerging technology companies.
He is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University (BA, Economics, 1976) and Rider University (MBA, 1983). Steve is former President and former Board Member/Trustee of the Ewing Public Education Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, which provides grants to teachers in the Ewing NJ Public School District for innovative projects and programs in all academic disciplines, and scholarships to graduating seniors, who excel in areas of academics, community service and leadership.
An ordained Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church, he is active in liturgical, counseling and adult education ministries. Steve has had extensive experience in stewardship, finance and development activities for the Catholic Diocese of Trenton and his church, Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Trenton NJ.
Job Responsibilities
- Primary career advisor to Economics, Business Law, Sports Business and Real Estate Management students (graduate and undergraduate), recent graduates and alumni, working with them to develop lifelong career management strategies, management of networking opportunities, interviewing and negotiating techniques
- Conduct employer outreach to promote students in above industry areas,, recent graduates and alumni for full-time and internship opportunities.
- Develop courses, workshops and events to enhance career management skills within the context of lifelong (short-term and long-term planning.
- Instructor for BUSN 610 (Strategic Career Management & Professional Development, BUSN 614,(Foundations of Career and Professional Development) and BUSN 615 (Graduate Internships) in the LeBow College of Business
