Drexel University’s online Certificate in New Venture Creation prepares you for independence in your career. The curriculum focuses on the start-up skills you need to know, such as new venture leadership, building a successful start-up team, assessing funding needs and opportunities, and using the Lean Launch methodology.
Housed in LeBow’s Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship, you’ll learn from a mix of full-time faculty and adjuncts with years of experience leading companies like DuPont-Merck Pharmaceuticals, Saxbys Coffee, Vertex, Inc., and Tangent Energy Solutions.

This certificate program is designed for recent graduates and working professionals who want to start their own ventures, work for startup companies or prepare for self-employment. The program introduces key concepts in new-venture leadership including how to build a successful startup team, assess funding needs and opportunities and apply the Lean Launch methodology to test and refine business ideas.
In the New Venture Creation certificate program, you will learn how to communicate complex ideas, evaluate opportunities, learn from failure and implement innovations in real-world settings.
You’ll also have access to the Laurence A. Baiada Institute of Entrepreneurship, a vital extension of the Close School of Entrepreneurship. The Baiada Institute empowers all Drexel students to explore entrepreneurship and provides the resources needed to turn innovative ideas into startup ventures.

Admission requires a four-year bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or an equivalent international institution. Applicants who have not received a degree in the United States are required to take a TOEFL.
