Datathon Overview
Presented by the Center for Applied AI and Business Analytics, LeBow’s annual datathon is a one-day analytics competition that challenges student teams with analyzing and deriving insights from data related to a company’s business challenge. Teams will transform a business problem into a series of statistical questions, design a technical approach and use data analysis and technology skills to develop insights.
Students will interact with company representatives throughout the day, then present their findings to a panel of judges comprising company representatives and LeBow faculty — highlighting their methodology, analyses, technical challenges and business insights. Students must bring and use their own laptops.
Participant Eligibility
The datathon is open to currently enrolled LeBow undergraduate and graduate students with an interest or proficiency in business analytics, such as data analysis and statistical modeling.
Teams will consist of 5–7 students. You’re welcome to form your own team: just be sure that all members register individually. Team rosters must be submitted to Diana Jones at dej36@drexel.edu by January 26, 2026. If you don’t have a team, the Center will be glad to match you with one.
Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, committed basis. Registration closes on January 26, 2026 or when capacity is reached. This is a high-visibility opportunity to engage directly with company leaders. By registering, you are confirming your commitment to fully participate.
Company Partner and Challenge
The 2026 company partner will be announced closer to the event date. Past company partners include Bloomberg, Under Armour and the Philadelphia Flyers. Student teams will receive all specifics of the datathon challenge at the event.
