Technological advances are developing nonstop. Both business units and IT units see these advances and what they can mean for an organization’s growth, but because of siloed thinking, the two units rarely align in what the business needs right now and how IT needs to accomplish it. This creates inefficiencies that hinder an organization’s growth and success. In fact, according to recent studies, as many as 85 percent of all U.S. IT projects are considered failures, wasting valuable resources and stymieing growth.
With a STEM-designated Master of Science in Business Information Technology (MS BIT) from Drexel’s LeBow College of Business and the College of Computing & Informatics (CCI), you can be the bridge that connects the divide between business and IT and the go-to resource every company needs to operate at a higher level. Depending on your background, this interdisciplinary program can equip you to be the business professional who can lead IT projects with an eye toward the business goals or the IT expert who can lead the business. Either way, you’ll be prepared to meet business goals, solve organizational problems and manage the change and innovation necessary for success.

Stackable Certificates
Students can earn the master’s degree by completing the Certificate in Information Technology and Management and choosing from two of the four other graduate certificates in business information technology.

MS in Business Information Technology Admissions Requirements
Program Eligibility
To be eligible for the business information technology program, students should have:
- One to three years of professional experience in business or technology
- A solid vision for how the curriculum can apply to their responsibilities or goals
- A four-year bachelor’s degree in any major from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or an equivalent international institution
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher, though the program may provisionally admit those with a GPA under 3.0
Required Documents
- A completed application
- Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions attended (including trade schools)
- One letter of recommendation, although two are suggested (academic, professional or both)
- Essay/statement of purpose
- In approximately 500 words, please describe what professional goals you hope to achieve, how an advanced degree facilitates that success and anything else you want the Admissions Review Board to know about you
- A résumé
- Scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are not required
- Additional requirements for International Students

Dual Degrees
