Dual Mission Consortium

The Dual Mission Consortium is a collaborative organization with industry and nonprofit partners centered on a dual mission, which balances business performance with social responsibility.

For corporations, effectively integrating a social mission can drive innovation, expand market reach, foster a positive organizational culture, and ultimately enhance profitability. For nonprofit organizations, developing strategic clarity and implementing sound management practices can strengthen and sustain their social missions. A dual mission organization seeks to innovatively integrate its efforts in both financial performance and social/environmental responsibilities. This Consortium will spearhead both scholarly and practical approaches to leading dual mission integration in organizations.

The Department has deep expertise in strategic management, leadership, technology and innovation management, and social responsibility, as demonstrated by outstanding research accomplishments and teaching excellence. Leveraging this expertise, we aim to establish a distinctive presence in the dual-mission space.

The Consortium aims to unite a network of organizational partners dedicated to the dual mission. Through this collaboration, we strive to better prepare the next generation of leaders to build and manage organizations that are both financially robust and socially responsible. Additionally, we seek to work with our partners to develop innovative, effective approaches for designing and implementing dual mission strategies that align with their core business.
