Vic has 23 years of experience in process improvement, sales, marketing and P&L responsibility including nine years of global business leadership. He spent seven years living abroad leading businesses in Europe and Asia (Singapore, China, and Belgium). He has served as chairman of the board for two joint ventures, and he is currently a board member of the Worthington – Armstrong joint venture called WAVE. Vic graduated from California Polytechnic University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

In January 2011, Vic became CEO of Armstrong Ceilings, a $1.2 billion division of Armstrong World Industries (AWI) where he grew earnings 55% and expanded margins 650bps in a flat global market. In April 2016, he became CEO of AWI after having completed the separation of its legacy flooring business that is operating independently as Armstrong Flooring Inc. AWI continues as a global leader in the design and manufacture of innovative commercial and residential ceiling, wall and suspension system solutions, with over 3,700 employees and a global manufacturing network of 25 facilities, including 10 plants dedicated to its WAVE joint venture. Its fiscal 2015 revenues from ceiling operations were in excess of $1.2 billion.

Prior to Armstrong, Vic was president of Valmont Industries’ global structures and engineered products division for five years. He had global P&L responsibility for a portfolio of industrial businesses with revenues of $1.5 billion and 73 manufacturing operations in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. He doubled the international business to $520 million in three years while improving return on sales two points.

He was selected by the CEO to lead the company wide “Lean” initiative to develop and institutionalize this business operating system, and he formed and chaired “The Valmont Way” steering committee comprised of the CEO and his staff.

From 2004-2005, he was president of the commercial power division of EaglePicher Corporation, a $700 million diversified manufacturer and marketer of advanced technology and industrial products for space, defense, automotive, filtration, pharmaceutical, environmental and commercial applications. He led the development of the business strategy, restructured the organization and generated $2.2M annualized savings, eliminating non-profitable businesses and redeploying 65 resources.

Earlier in his career, Vic spent 16 years at General Electric Corporation. He had expatriate assignments in Europe and Asia over seven years where he led regional businesses that included the successful start-up of a $25 million manufacturing facility in Shanghai.
