How to Install Tableau

Tableau is freely available to faculty and students for instructional purposes only.

Faculty

  1. Browse to tableau.com/academic/teaching.
  2. Select REQUEST INDIVIDUAL LICENSE at the bottom of the page.
  3. Complete the form using your Drexel email address.
  4. Select ACCEPT AND SUBMIT.
  5. Once your request has been approved, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading and installing the software.

Students

  1. Browse to tableau.com/academic/students.
  2. Select Get Tableau for Free.
  3. Complete the form using your Drexel email address.
  4. Select Download the app.
  5. Tableau uses a pop-up window for the download. If pop-ups have been disabled, select the version of Tableau you would like to download from the green banner.
  6. Browse to the location of your download and launch the Tableau installer.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.
