This course bridges technical analysis with strategic communication. Students will master visualization by using both industry-standard tools for interactive dashboards and programmatic libraries for bespoke, complex graphs. The focus is on using visualization as a critical thinking tool not just for reporting, but for exploratory data analysis for interpreting complex model results and supporting decision making. The central objective is to translate these findings into compelling narratives for a C-level audience. Students will learn to distill complex analysis into clear, persuasive stories that align directly with the data project’s key objectives, ensuring their insights drive executive decision-making.
This course focuses on using AI tools, including LLMs and NLP, to transform unstructured text into actionable data for business analysis. Students learn how to classify text, extract structured information and engineer features from sources such as customer feedback, emails and documents. Emphasis is placed on framing business problems, evaluating AI-generated output and integrating insights into decision-making workflows. The course prioritizes practical application and prepares students to work effectively with unstructured data.
This course dives into the advanced predictive power of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI). Students will gain hands-on experience building, validating and implementing a wide range of models, from classic ML techniques to modern deep learning (DL) architectures. The core objective is to learn how to select the right algorithm, train it on business data and interpret its output to solve complex challenges. In today’s market, AI and ML are key differentiators, enabling businesses to automate complex processes, personalize customer experiences and uncover subtle patterns that drive innovation and create a significant competitive edge.
The Capstone Project is the culminating experience of the MS program in Applied AI and Business Analytics. Students work in teams on a complex, real-world business problem sponsored by a partner organization. This project requires them to apply the full spectrum of their skills — from data wrangling and infrastructure to machine learning, optimization and data storytelling. The primary learning objective is to manage an end-to-end analytics project, translating a business need into a concrete data solution and delivering actionable insights. This project serves as a critical bridge to the professional world, providing students with tangible, portfolio-worthy experience.
Note: Beginning in Fall 2027, Drexel University will transition to a semester-based academic calendar as part of its broader Academic Transformation.
