Connie Weaver is the KPMG Professor in Accounting at the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and a certified public accountant. She holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University, a Masters of Professional Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., Professor Weaver was a tax manager at Ernst & Young in Dallas, TX. Professor Weaver teaches graduate taxation in the PPA program at Texas A&M University. Professor Weaver currently teaches a graduate corporate tax course and has taught in the undergraduate and PhD programs at Texas A&M University. She is the co-author of a popular tax textbook, Taxation of Individuals and Business Entities and she has received numerous awards for teaching and research excellence including the Association of Former Students (AFS) Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching award at the university and college level, the David and Denise Baggett Teaching Award recognizing teaching innovation, the American Taxation Association Teaching Innovations Award, and the American Taxation Association Outstanding dissertation award. Professor Weaver’s research investigates the effects of income taxes on financing, investing, and financial reporting decisions. She has published articles in journals such as the Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of the American Taxation Association, National Tax Journal, Accounting Horizons, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Accounting Education, and Tax Notes. Professor Weaver serves as the senior editor of the Journal of the American Taxation Association and serves on the editorial board of Contemporary Accounting Research.
