Behavioral Economics, Business and Organizations Combined Major

The STEM-designated behavioral economics, business and organizations combined major integrates economic modeling with insights from behavioral sciences to analyze and predict human behavior in economic contexts and organizations. The program combines interdisciplinary coursework in economics, psychology, consumer behavior and organizational behavior with comprehensive training in quantitative research methods. Students in this combined major learn how to model behavior, collect and analyze choice data, conduct experiments and design interventions to shape individual decisions and organizational outcomes. The program also provides students with the opportunity to pursue additional areas of interest by offering one year of free electives.

Career Outlook: Behavioral Economics, Business and Organizations Combined Major

Students graduate with a solid understanding of decision-making, so they’re ready for a variety of professional roles, such as improving business practices or designing financial products. It also prepares them for roles such as brand manager, marketing specialist, business operations specialist or financial manager. The combined major provides a strong foundation for students interested in pursuing graduate studies in social and behavioral sciences or business.

Drexel Co-op

Founded in 1919, Drexel’s cooperative education program was one of the first of its kind, and it continues to be among the largest and most renowned. The Drexel Co-op program allows students to test-drive careers and gain a network and experience before graduation. Students choose from more than 1,700 employers in 35 states and 45 international locations, or they conduct an independent search. Students can participate in either a four-year/one co-op program plan or a five-year/three co-op program plan.

Learn by Experience

In addition to the Co-op program, experiential learning opportunities abound at LeBow, including consulting courses, case competitions, international residencies, research projects, industry thought leader events, alumni mentorship and more. Through projects made possible by the Dana and David Dornsife Office for Experiential Learning and Drexel Solutions Institute, our students apply their learning on real and simulated challenges, working with organizations domestically and internationally from Unilever, the Philadelphia 76ers, Boeing and PwC to nonprofit and governmental partners.
