As a Recruitment Manager for IKEA Group, Amanda Buchanan works to ensure effective hiring practices of Leadership positions within IKEA stores throughout the East Coast. As part of IKEA’s recruitment leadership team, she is committed to shaping a high-performance team that leverages Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practices. With over 15 years of solid and progressive experience in Human Resources, Retail, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Amanda has held a wide range of responsibilities in both field and staff functions, including serving as a Case Manager for KRA Corporation, Diversity Specialist at Cigna Corporation and also the role of Executive Team Leader of Human Resources at Target, before entering the world of Recruitment. The combination of her academic training as well as her corporate and field experience have provided her with a unique set of skills that has enabled her to assume a diverse career. Amanda has served as a board member of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and is an active member of the Urban League of Philadelphia’s Network of Extraordinary Talent (NExT Philadelphia). She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Loyola University Maryland. She later went on to receive her Master of Business Administration from Villanova University.
