Cynthia Weiss is the Vice President of Marketing for NBC Sports Philadelphia. Weiss has enjoyed the unique experience of watching the regional sports network flourish since its inception in 1997, having been a part of the original team to establish the Comcast SportsNet brand. She has been instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the network’s brand and presence in the Philadelphia market as well as guided the network’s online presence since their website launched in 2000.

Weiss has spent more than 23 years in the sports television field starting her career at PRISM/SportsChannel Philadelphia, the former premium cable source for Philadelphia’s professional sports coverage and entertainment. There, she advanced from advertising sales assistant to marketing manager in just five years before joining Comcast SportsNet in 1997.

Weiss’ strength is in partnership marketing, sponsorships and brand marketing. She oversees the network’s relationship with the professional and collegiate teams in Philadelphia. Her role in sponsorships includes developing integrated programs for a wide variety of clients around the network’s original news programming and game broadcasts which has resulted in more than $2 million in sponsorship sales. The client roster includes Virtua Health Systems, AAA Mid-Atlantic, Coors Light, Papa John’s, and Penn Medicine to name a few. In addition to this, she was the team leader for the network in its first ever HD broadcast of the US Pro Cycling Championship and led all marketing and sponsorship efforts including unique tie-ins with GPTMC and TD Bank.

Cynthia serves as primary liaison to the professional sports teams and excels in her role of managing the team partnerships in regards to marketing, promotions, sponsorships, content and social media. She leads the Creative Services team in developing on-air promotional campaigns to drive viewership to the network and extend the branding of Comcast SportsNet, The Comcast Network and CSNPhilly.com. Those efforts have garnered her recognition with winning a Mid-Atlantic Emmy for Outstanding Promotion – News, Program, PSA-Campaign and a Sports Media Marketing Award, Regional, for Best TV/Video Campaign.

She is also dedicated to making a difference in her community by developing long- standing partnerships between Comcast SportsNet and various non-profit organizations in the region including the American Cancer Society and the March of Dimes. Her dedication to community involvement extends to her active involvement with these charities by serving on and chairing various committees such as the executive committee for the overall Coaches vs. Cancer program and co-chair of the auction committee for the Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBALL Gala. She was recognized with a Volunteer Achievement Award for the 17 years of service with ACS in 2013. She also serves on the steering committee for the Comcast SportsNet Shining Star Awards benefitting the March of Dimes and most recently was named to the Board of the Southeast Pennsylvania Chapter in 2014 and has assumed the role of Chair of the Communications Committee in 2015.

Weiss is an avid participant in the arts and culture scene in Philadelphia and supports various institutions such as the Philadelphia Art Museum, Fleisher Art Memorial, Kimmel Center and the Please Touch Museum where she serves on the Marketing Committee. Cynthia also serves on the sports marketing department advisory boards for the following colleges: St. Joseph’s University, Neumann College and Drexel University.

A Bala Cynwyd, PA native, Weiss graduated from Ithaca College with a degree in Sports Information and Public Relations.
