Jennifer Golek

Jennifer Golek leads Bank Operations for Capital One. She is also engaged with the Data Science and Credit Risk functions of the organization, leading a wide cross-section of the Data Analysis teams supporting the Capital One Retail Bank.

Prior to joining Capital One, Dr. Golek worked at Barclays, leading Decision Sciences in support of their U.S. and South African Credit Card businesses. She also spent time at DuPont as a Statistical Consultant and Six Sigma Master Black Belt, focused primarily on the integration of statistical analyses into the business framework, and developing Six Sigma Black Belt training materials for associates in the marketing and sales areas of the company.

Dr. Golek is a leader who has taken a technical career and education and evolved it through a series of career transitions. She began her career as an individual contributor building models and partnering with domain experts to develop advanced analytical solutions and deliver financial and customer value. She then progressed into technical leadership of teams sized from 5 to 50 supporting similar objectives – define, implement, and execute strategies that harness advanced analytics and data science to create differential performance for the business. In recent years, Dr. Golek has continued her leadership journey by transforming into a General Manager responsible for a team responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars of expense and revenue for a top ten U.S. financial institution.

Dr. Golek holds a Ph.D. in Statistics / Business Administration, and M.S. in Statistics from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and also studied at SUNY Potsdam, where she received an M.A. and B.A. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Music. At the LeBow College of Business, she is an adjunct professor teaching courses in Multivariate Statistics, Six Sigma, and Business Analytics.
