Regional Director
Remington & Vernick Engineers
Karen Jehanian has built a distinguished career in transportation consulting, defined by more than four decades of collaborative, compassionate leadership. Her entrepreneurial spirit emerged early—long before founding KMJ Consulting, Inc.—when, as a young girl, she envisioned starting her own civil engineering firm. That vision, combined with perseverance and intellectual curiosity, shaped a career dedicated to solving complex challenges and improving communities.
After gaining leadership experience with several respected engineering firms, Jehanian founded KMJ Consulting, Inc. with the goal of creating a people-centered, innovative work culture that fostered professional growth and delivered meaningful impact. Jehanian built KMJ into a trusted partner for PennDOT, the City of Philadelphia and regional planning agencies. The KMJ team earned a reputation for innovation, collaboration and technical excellence. The American Street and Island Avenue projects are among many of KMJ’s transformative contributions to the Philadelphia area.
In 2025, following 26 years as KMJ’s president, Jehanian guided the firm through its acquisition by Remington & Vernick Engineers (RVE). As Regional Director at RVE, she continues to share her expertise and passion for service, bringing her hallmark integrity, empathy, and commitment to empowerment to a broader platform. Jehanian remains a staunch advocate for diversity in the industry and a mentor to students and professionals through Drexel University, Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) and other outreach programs. Her impact has been recognized with numerous honors, including being named 2025 Woman of the Year by the WTS Philadelphia Chapter.
Jehanian earned an EMBA degree and a BS in civil engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and remains an active alumna. She is a current member of the Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship External Board. In 2002, she was awarded the prestigious College of Engineering Alumni Circle of Distinction Award.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Karen enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, as well as cooking, reading, biking, golfing and sharing time with family and friends.
