As a Co-op Advisor in Drexel’s Steinbright Career Development Center, Katie’s daily priority is to ensure that students are having a good cooperative education experience from start to finish. This includes making sure resumes are solid, interview skills are mastered, act as a point of contact if the work experience is not going the way students planned, assist students become self-advocates in the work place, and help them fully understand what it means to be in the professional world She started her career in the corporate world, having a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, which allows her to use her experience to give a unique perspective on the job hunt and give insight what the corporate world is truly looking for in a candidate.
While she does work with all business majors, Katie is the only Co-op Advisor that works with Sport Management students. Since joining in 2016 she has worked very hard to understand the difficulties that come with pursuing a career in this field in order to best advise her students, as well as working very close with faculty to develop and maintain relationships with new and current employers to increase the amount of co-op opportunities available to SMT students.
Katie and her husband, AJ, currently live in Philadelphia with their 2 cats.
