Rodney Gillespie is a global executive with broad leadership experience. He is currently the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Solid Tumor for Janssen Oncology, a Johnson and Johnson company. This includes products for Prostate, Bladder and Lung Cancer.
While only with Janssen Oncology for eighteen months, Rodney spent thirteen years with AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company. Rodney began his career with AstraZeneca in the United States where he held several senior roles in market access, marketing, and sales leadership before assuming posts in the UK and in South Africa. Through his role as Country President AstraZeneca in South Africa, a position he held from 2016 through mid- 2019, Rodney had overall responsibility for the P&L, strategy, and direction of the company.
Rodney has a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce & Engineering from Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Rodney and his amazing wife, Angela live in Chadds Ford, PA. He has two daughters, Jasmyn and Jaida. Jasmyn is a recent college graduate of High Point University and Jaida is an undergraduate student at the Mecca, Howard University in Washington, DC.
Rodney has a passion for participating in activities and organizations that allow him to give back to disadvantaged communities and kids. Rodney was on the Board of Directors for The American International School of South Africa and is a member of the South African Chapter and London Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. He is also a member of Sigma Pi Phi. He continues to mentor numerous young professionals in their career journey. In addition, he enjoys running and cycling via Peloton. He enjoys a good book and a good movie.
