Ryan Maguire ‘14 is a communications strategist and digital leader with experience in journalism and media production. Maguire graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in television management from Drexel University. He currently serves as the associate director, assistant editor in chief, Global Communications at Merck, where he is responsible for helping the Global Communications team manage, create, edit and flight content across multiple channels, including internal and external corporate websites, paid media, video and more. Maguire works across the company to help execute the editorial approach, effectively tell Merck’s story, and build the corporate brand. Previously, he joined Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) in 2017 to grow and direct the company’s social media presence, served as managing editor for NNI’s blog, and led the production of the company’s corporate materials and managed communications for corporate social responsibility efforts. Prior to NNI, Maguire was the social media strategist for Princeton University, leading the University’s social media strategy, and worked at the University of Delaware, serving as the school’s first social media editor before becoming digital content strategist. His career started in TV news, where he worked as a reporter/producer for WHYY-TV in Wilmington, Delaware, an associate producer at 13WHAM News in Rochester, New York, and an investigative news team member and assignment editor at NBC 10 in Philadelphia. *Graduate Television Student Association alumnus
