CEO & Founder
Circular Economy Institute of Africa

Yaseen Ahmid grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa as the son of Zimbabwean immigrants. Learning from his parent’s example and hard-learned lessons, Ahmid came to understand the power of entrepreneurship, leadership and community from a young age.
At 23, Ahmid graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor Sciences Business Administration in Supply Chain Management and Logistics, Finance and Business Analytics. While working towards his degree Ahmid pursued further education at Villanova University, becoming the youngest recipient of a Lean Six Sigma black belt on the African continent.
Ahmid reinforced his passion for supply chain as a reverse logistics intern at Esteé Lauder’s flagship manufacturing campus in America. His internship inspired his work in championing sustainability in the field of supply chain.
Upon graduating Ahmid returned to South Africa, where he now worked as a Management Consultant for Kearney. He was a firm contributor to the management consultancy’s Center for Sustainable Future work, smart cities research and procurement and supply chain solutions.
Ahmid founded the Circular Economy Institute of Africa, and as CEO aims to use the organization to expand public knowledge on circular economies and contribute resources to underserved and overexploited communities across the continent.
Ahmid also founded Luna, a personalized resume review service tailored to students and young professionals. The service has assisted clients from over 36 countries.
