The 2015 Paris Agreement was the first major global initiative to deal with climate-related issues. Since then, various efforts have aimed at developing a comprehensive climate policy that is based on relevant data, disclosures and approaches, including those of the G20 Sustainable Finance Working Group and the G20 classification principles to align investments to sustainability objectives. Despite these efforts, the climate policy agenda still appears fuzzy, and the consequences of climate events on countries, businesses and financial portfolios are ever-distressing. This conference intends to shed some light on outstanding climate-related issues and main international initiatives and policies relating to climate change and its implications, as well as take stock of corporate and financial market developments relating to ESG and green finance and explore suitable sustainability proposals going forward.

We invite you to join GIC and LeBow on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2022, to celebrate 40 years of our Annual Monetary and Trade Conference! This year’s event will explore climate-related issues and include the dedication of our Global Citizen Award to GIC board member and continued chair of the AMT, George Tsetsekos, Francis Professor of Finance and dean emeritus of Drexel’s LeBow College of Business. Joining us as a keynote speaker will be Patrick Harker, the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

Session topics will include:

  • The Impact of Climate Risk on Food Production and Prices
  • Role of Tech in Incentivizing Emissions Reductions
  • The Macroeconomic Consequences of Climate Change

If you are unable to stay for the entire conference you are welcome to join us for any individual sessions you would like.
