Introducing VoiceThread

VoiceThread is a multimedia platform that allows students to upload presentation materials, then create written, audio, or video narration to accompany them. VoiceThread can be used for both individual and group presentations, and it integrates directly into Blackboard courses.

Our team most often suggests the use of VoiceThread for a specific use case: allowing group members to record a team presentation asynchronously. Using VoiceThread allows each group member to record their portion of the presentation independently, eliminating the need for all group members to join a call at the same time.

You can take a look at this article by Drexel’s Instructional Technology Group to learn about other ways that VoiceThread assignments can be used: VoiceThread Assignment Builder.

If you are interested in using VoiceThread, please reach out to the LeBow Instructional Technology team at lebowintech@drexel.edu to discuss your assignment with us. We will be happy to assist with the setup and provide student-facing instructions to help things go smoothly.
