Before being recruited as Chief Medical Officer for Megadyne Surgical Products, Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Lewis was Medical Director at W.L. Gore and Associates. Over the past 16 years Dr. Lewis has used his specialized skills as a licensed physician, public health expert, and innovator to oversee clinical trials, implement phase zero design protocols, liaise with the FDA, and act as a medical mouthpiece for the company.
Dr. Lewis has also traveled extensively to better understand the strategic direction of a variety of markets, including resource-¬‐poor nations. He currently advises the Board of Directors at Megadyne on matters of corporate structure and leads their Advanced Products Team. He is also president of his own medical device consultancy corporation.
Dr. Lewis has been invited to participate on several boards, including Physician at Large for the Coconino County Board of Health. He also served with his family as March of Dimes Ambassadors for the Greater Philadelphia region. Dr. Lewis currently serves on the University of Utah Technology and Venture Commercialization Advisory Board and the Public Health Committee for the Missionary Department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-¬‐day Saints.
Dr. Lewis earned his Medical Doctor degree from Hahnemann University (now Drexel), his Master of Human Anatomy degree from the same institution, and his Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health.
