Allowing the Horizon Client Access to Local Files

In most instances, the Horizon Client launch method is able to access your local files without issue. On other occasions, it may ask for permission to access your local computer. It is important that you allow this access in order to work with local files within the vApps. If you are unable to access your local files through the Horizon Client launch method, follow the instructions below to allow access to your computer.

  1. Browse to http://apps.lebow.drexel.edu.
  2. Log in using your Drexel credentials.
    • NOTE: Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) applies when signing in to LCB vApps.
  3. Select Open under the app you wish to use.
  4. Re-enter your Drexel credentials if prompted.
  5. Select Open VMware Horizon Client 32-bit.
  6. Once the vApp has loaded, follow the directions below for your specific operating system.

Windows 10

  1. Locate the VMware Horizon Client icon in the system tray next to the clock.
    • NOTE: You may need to select the up arrow to expand the options to find the correct icon.
  2. Right-click on the VMware Horizon Client icon and select Sharing.
  3. Make sure all checkboxes are checked and select OK.

macOS

  1. Select the VMware Horizon Client app in the dock.
  2. From the VMware Horizon Client menu, select Preferences.
  3. Select Sharing.
  4. Make sure all checkboxes are checked and select OK.
