Transfer Credit and Course Waivers

Upon acceptance to a Drexel LeBow graduate program, your application will automatically be reviewed for course waiver and transfer credit eligibility. All requests must be submitted no later than the end of week one of your first term — no exceptions.

Please note:

  • Eligible courses are subject to change
  • Waiver and transfer credits may not be eligible in some cohorted or executive programs
  • Students needing coursework for STEM-designated programs may not be eligible for waivers
  • International students may be required to take additional courses to maintain full-time status

Course Waivers

Course waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis. To be eligible, you must demonstrate academic competency in the subject area. The following criteria are considered:

  • Undergraduate major in a business discipline
  • Relevant professional experience in respective subject area
  • Coursework completed within the last seven years at an accredited institution
  • A grade of ‘B’ or higher in relevant courses

Professional Designations

Some designations can be used to supplement a waiver request:

  • CPA, CFA, CMA, CGMA, APICS or CSCMP (copy of exam results and/or current license required)
  • Grades in post-baccalaureate credit-bearing coursework from accredited institutions

Note: All waiver requests must be take place within the Admission Review process and no later than the first week of classes.

Where a waiver is not granted but academic competency is demonstrated, you may substitute certain core business courses with a more advanced course better suited to your experience level.
