Lunar New Year Celebration

Kick off the Lunar New Year with a bang! Drexel and Ascend Greater Philadelphia, the largest Pan-Asian business professional membership organization with a student chapter at the LeBow College of Business, invite you to welcome in the Year of the Dragon!

Following a welcome from Subir Sahu, senior vice president for student success at Drexel, and Elaine Cheong, president of Ascend Greater Philadelphia, learn about Asian Pacific Islander history in Philadelphia from Rob Buscher, lecturer in University of Pennylvania’s Asian American Studies program, and Hon. Kenneth Wong, president of CIG Asia Ltd.

Drexel Trustee Jerry Martin ’77 will also lead a discussion with Joanna Kan ’00 about her nontraditional business journey as founder of Blue Story, which designs wine collections for individual and corporate clients. Guests will hear from Vibhas Madan, dean of the LeBow College of Business, and Jason Fung, president of the Drexel LeBow Ascend student chapter.

Then Brian Ellis, associate dean of academic programs at LeBow, and Fanny Chu-Fong, executive director of Drexel Alumni, will wish all attendees happiness and prosperity with traditional red envelopes!

Lion dancers and drummers will be part of this rich program before we mix and mingle at the reception immediately following.
