Business Challenge

Lavazza Professional is a manufacturer of beverage systems designed for the workplace. The primary business challenge of operating in an indirect model is that we have little insight to what happens with our product once it leaves our factory. Once our brewer has been installed and an end-customer begins interacting with our brand via their new brewer and drinks, we have had no ability to impact that experience – until now.

Analytics Solution

In speaking with over 1,000 U.S. office managers, 1 in 3 say that managing office beverages is one of their biggest hassles. In September 2020, Lavazza Professional launched the FLAVIA® CREATION 600, the most versatile beverage system designed for the workplace. Powered by FLAVIA® IQ, the C600 is a smart brewer that helps manage office beverages by using data to reduce the time spent fielding complaints, scheduling repairs and worrying about maintenance. In addition to being the only brewer that can serve hot and cold drinks and froth dairy and non-dairy milk, FLAVIA IQ smart brewer technology and online portal helps put the headache of managing the office breakroom in the past.

Impact

The FLAVIA CREATION 600 with FLAVIA IQ is anticipated to help office managers manage office beverages in one-third of the time. That time is so valuable to office managers that not only are 88% of U.S. office managers interested in FLAVIA smart beverage system, but 64% are willing to increase their monthly beverage management budget to pay for it. The impact of the data means Lavazza Professional no longer needs to rely on anecdotal assumptions for drink innovation and planogram development; IQ data has empowered us with accurate real-time data indicating the most successful and least successful products and generates suggestions for new products that will optimize our innovation pipeline and increase throughput based on consumption patterns.
