LeBow Maintains International Accreditation Through AACSB
The LeBow College of Business has extended its business accreditation from AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business — following a multi-year internal review process and a peer review visit in January.
AACSB accreditation, a distinction achieved by 20 percent of domestic schools offering business degrees at the bachelor’s level or higher — and only 5 percent of schools globally — reflects an institutional commitment to continuous improvement. LeBow’s accreditation remains in effect for the next six years.
“AACSB congratulates Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business on the extension of its accreditation,” says Stephanie Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer with AACSB International. “The Peer Review Team was especially impressed with LeBow’s innovative approaches to strategic management, such as the Six-Six Initiative, which exemplifies agility and commitment to continuous improvement.”
“The College’s integration of emerging technologies — particularly artificial intelligence — into the curriculum is forward-looking and impactful. LeBow’s use of its signature co-op program to enhance student preparedness and career readiness is another clear strength. These achievements affirm LeBow’s leadership in business education and its strong alignment with AACSB’s standards for quality and innovation.”
The AACSB peer review report noted LeBow’s efforts to attract and support students from a variety of backgrounds and to create and sustain a culture of belonging. Additionally, the report also cited the College’s support for academic research through faculty course releases for R&R acceptances at top-tier journals and targeted mini-grants for research focused on sustainability and social impact.
“This reaccreditation really demonstrates the rigor and relevance of LeBow’s academic programs and scholarship as we move forward with Academic Transformation at Drexel,” said Vibhas Madan, PhD, LeBow Dean and R. John Chapel Jr. Dean’s Chair. “Our faculty’s commitment to cutting-edge, evidence-based research and to curriculum innovation that meets current and future needs will become even greater assets as interdisciplinary collaboration within the University becomes more widespread.”
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s and doctorate degrees in business.
