August 22, 2008

LeBow College of Business is proud to announce that Drexel University has been ranked among the Top 100 in U.S.News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” list. Drexel ranked 89th in the category of “Best National Universities” and Top 50 among private institutions.

Better yet, U.S. News decided to name for the first time the nation’s top 20 “Up-and-Coming Schools,” and Drexel ranked sixth on this list. The schools they selected for the “Up-and-Coming Schools” category have demonstrated “the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus, or facilities.”

Factors that contributed to our improved ranking this year, according to U.S.News, include improved graduation rate, smaller classes and improved test scores.

“This ranking further attests to Drexel’s growing stature as one of the world’s leading Universities,” said LeBow College of Business Dean George P. Tsetsekos, Ph.D. “LeBow College’s business curriculum is extremely forward-looking and leverages Drexel’s core strengths in leadership, technology, and connection to industry.”

Drexel University President Constantine Papadakis said: “This news confirms that we provide a superior educational experience to our students and outstanding scholarship and research opportunities to our faculty. Our success in doing so has led to unprecedented qualitative and quantitative growth.”
