Admission Standards and Application Requirements

Please review the admission standards and requirements for applicants before submitting your application.

All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Degrees earned abroad will be evaluated and must be deemed equivalent.

For international students, please review the additional criteria required.

1. Completed Application

As a part of the MBA and MS admission process, the online application must be completed by the applicant. Supplemental documents such as essays, professional resume and letters of recommendation may be uploaded after submitting the completed online application.

2. Application Fee

An application fee of $65 U.S. is required. Application fees for Fall 2020 are waived for applicants who apply by July 31. Fees are also waived if you attend an Open House or Information Session prior to submitting an application. Find an upcoming Open House.

3. Transcripts

Official transcripts must be provided for each institution attended. Transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the university seal over the flap. Official transcripts can be sent electronically to if the institution uses an e-transcript service.

4. Letters of Recommendation

Two letters of recommendation are required. Professional recommendations are preferred. Recommendation letters for MBA admissions and MS admissions must be submitted with your application or requested through the Discover Drexel Portal after you submit your online application.

5. Standardized Test Scores

The GMAT or GRE exam is acceptable for consideration to graduate programs. Our Admissions Committee prefers a minimum GMAT test score of 570 or above, or a combined GRE score of 310 or above. However, admissions decisions are based on a holistic review of your entire application package.

GMAT Waiver Request:

Applicants to LeBow graduate programs may petition for a GMAT waiver. Please refer to our GMAT waiver policy for more information. To discuss your eligibility further, please contact the LeBow Graduate Admissions Team at

We understand that testing centers are closed due to the current pandemic. Thankfully, there are alternatives that can be completed at home.

6. Professional Resume

Applicants can upload their resume as part of the admission application or through the Discover Drexel Portal after you submit your application.

7. Essay

To further aid the Admissions Committee in evaluating your application, you must submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words. An MBA admission essay or MS admission essay provides the Admissions Committee with a better understanding of your reasons for pursuing a graduate degree from LeBow College, your short-term and long-term career plans, and how your background, experience interests and/or values, when combined with a Drexel graduate degree, will enable you to pursue those goals successfully.

Additional Information for International Applicants:

1. Visa
Students need to obtain an F1 student visa or a J1 student exchange visa.

2. Transcripts
Please enclose official transcripts (mark sheets and degree certificates) from all colleges/universities attended. If your school issues only one transcript for life, you may send a notarized photocopy, bearing the seal on each page. Please note that any applicant, regardless of program, may be required to provide a transcript evaluation should the Admissions Committee determine it is needed for the application to be reviewed. Applicants are responsible for supplying all necessary documentation required and all necessary fees associated with transcript evaluation services.

3. English Proficiency Requirements
Applicants who have completed their undergraduate degree outside of the United States are required to provide proof of English Proficiency as part of their application. We offer a variety of options for candidates to meet this requirement.

Drexel LeBow is now accepting the Duolingo English Test, which can be completed online, on-demand in under an hour for only $49. The test is taken via a computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview and writing sample, which are shared with our admissions team when you send your results to the LeBow College of Business. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test. Drexel LeBow looks for a minimum score of 115 for admissions consideration.

TOEFL and IELTS Examinations
The TOEFL and IELTS exams are graduate business school admission tests to provide proof of English proficiency for international applicants who did not earn an undergraduate or graduate degree in the United States. For admission consideration, Drexel LeBow looks for an overall minimum TOEFL score of 90 (with a 22 or higher in the Speaking and Listening section).

Alternatively, an overall minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with a minimum score of 6.5 in Speaking and Listening) is accepted.

A TOEFL Special Home Edition test is being offered temporarily by ETS to serve students who are unable to visit a test center due to public health concerns.

The British Council is also offering the IELTS Indicator exam, which can be completed on your personal computer in lieu of the IELTS exam. Score requirements will remain the same.

4. I-20/DS-2019
International applicants must submit I-20/DS-2019 documents after admission and confirmation to the program. Visit to download the I-20 application.
