Dornsife Office Offers Business Consulting Opportunities

January 16, 2013

The Dornsife Office of Experiential Learning is currently enrolling clients for spring term and will hold an info session on what Drexel LeBow consulting can do for area employers on Jan. 29.

Business consulting projects deliver action-learning courses in which teams of MBA and undergraduate students and faculty work with corporate and nonprofit clients to solve problems in innovative ways. Through these projects, clients gain access to the latest business solutions with data-driven, evidence-based analysis and actionable recommendations.

Paul E. Jensen, Ph.D., associate dean for experiential learning, says Dornsife’s consulting projects “tackle real client business issues, providing data and analysis in a concentrated timeframe. The student teams, with the support of advisors and faculty, focus their energy on helping clients achieve new insights to business challenges for which there aren’t off-the-shelf solutions. This program provides client organizations with a report that captures fresh thinking from an external viewpoint.”

During fall term, the Dornsife Office oversaw four successful consulting projects, including helping one company to identify
experiences which would lead to the development of key talent; evaluating the non-equity investments of an endowment and recommending asset allocation; and helping a nonprofit to measure and maximize the effectiveness of its programming.

Jensen says future projects may include topics such as:

• Business planning and analysis

• Corporate strategy

• Economic impact studies

• Financial analysis

• Marketing strategy

• New product launch

• Process design

• Supply chain management

The info session will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Paul Peck Alumni Center. Register Now
