First-Year Case Competitions

Teams prepare for presentation

Experiential learning isn’t only for upperclassmen. First-year students get the chance to experiment with what they’ve learned in the classroom through various competitions and simulations.

Six-Minute Pitch

Students get their first shot at making it big in the six-minute pitch competition. Groups in each section develop a product or service. They pitch the idea they believe will be a well-received by consumers. This culminates in a pitch of their ideas where they compete against their classmates.

The top teams from every section are invited to compete once again, in front of a group of young alumni, professors and international faculty via video conferencing in a Shark Tank-style competition. Can your team prove they have what it takes in just six minutes? Students get a taste for what it takes to bring an idea to reality.
